GENERAL PHILOSOPHY OF ASHO INSTITUTE

The word asho means hope which symbolizes an insight into the spiritual life and healthy way of living guidance which the institute preaches. In this Materialistic World a person can have money, fame, and luxuries and comfort and still be unhappy.

Working in the field of health and teaching others the field of things like healing meditation and ayurveda helps a person to have better life style and mental satisfaction .Ayurveda makes a person engrossed with complicated emotions, healthy and solves its problem permanently rather than solving the symptoms and thus help us to achieve the way of health both physical and mental.

“There is no happy man as a healthy man”. “Health is Wealth” etc. saying has always been easy to say out hard to follow Thus the best way to pursue your health is to be in a healthy field of working. A simple example is how far a Bartender is from Alcohol? This picking up Ayurveda or healing as a profession helps a person change his way of living, and makes him have a lot of self- satisfaction with service to the mankind and humanity.

This is not a philosophy of the institute but a saying of experience of various students who have changed their life with Ayurveda & Healing.

COMMENCEMENT OF AYURVEDIC SECTION

Dr. Shivani and Dr. Mahesh have been known worldwide for their unique style of treatment and coaching . in 2001 asho ayurveda and shivani clinic and panchakarma centre has been established . The centre practises ayurveda in a scientific manner that does not diminish the essence of this 5000 year old system. We are therefore uniquely positioned to explain and treat Indians and westerners who want to learn and recive ayurvedic treatments without getting mystified by traditions, Hinduism or traditional practices that “appear to have no meaning ”.

Our establishment has trained therapists and masseurs who are currently successfully practicing worldwide and also patients all over the world has received treatment. The ayurvedic sections has also help workshops in various locationin Europe and America the topic of most being learning ayurveda for self health prevention and learning the various secrets of self healing on a self implementing manner.

Dr Shivani is also part of a special womens health empowerment group which is givin lectures all over the world for women so that they can learn how to take care of themselves and their family with simple ayurvedic remedies . many complicated problems of women like PMS, menstrual irregularities, endometriosis and hormonal imbalanced can be correcte din ayurveda with simple measures. The centre conducts regular short workshops for enhancing the knowledge of the people with these topic.

Ayurveda is a science which has its so many interpretation of teaching, & thus involves treatments many which has practices which are traditional with not many implementations and explanations, thus at Asho Ayurveda the first specialty is quality of Education and treatment with scientific teaching of Ayurveda with Genuine Doctors, so as every concept, is taught with logic and reasoning and not with orthodox thinking and belief of Hinduism or any culture or tradition.

The centre thus has got a very good response from rational minded people who believes in logical and scientific concepts and has also been appreciate by people who are tradition becaus ethey understand the tradions better. Thus the Institute is the first institute in Dharmashala which is led by Doctors who are post graduate in their field.. The Institute has also a very friendly and helpful environment and meticulous & devoted teachers who make a very positive environment for learning located in the laps of Mountain Bhagsunag (Mcleodganj) is also the home of the Peace king ‘DALAI LAMA’ who gives this place a special grace. Various Meditation Retreat conducted by him brings thousands of people into this place every year. Thus Dharamshala also provides an ideal place for studying long time with its unique scenic beauty, different faculties of learning thus a visit to the place changes a person’s life

MISSION STATEMENT OF ASHO AYURVEDA

The aim of the Asho Ayurvedic Centre was to promote authentic teaching and practice of ayurvedic treatments by qualified doctors who have done a six year degree courses B.A.M.S Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery from a reputed government college, further the teachers have specialized in their field with post graduation degree in medicine from renowned universities .

Thus Dr Mahesh has a diploma in Panchakarma n traditional massage and therapy from Kerala and Dr. Shivani is a certified food and nutritionist. the ayurvedic section thus has two main faculties ayurvedic therapist training and treatment clinic so it also offers course and practice of Ayurveda in intellectual aspect of Ayurveda a with diet guidance and psychological approach. thus the therapists who have been trained by us have the understanding to disease and pathology and scientific explanation of the treatment. thus asho ayurveda is devoted to teach and practice ayurveda in a scientific manner rather than in a conventional style without diminishing the essence of the traditions.also our treatment centre shivani clinic is continuously offering treatment and therapies which have helped people to see themselves in a new manner and brought them to differnt levels of healing themselves. They have conducted a lot of treatments and workshop all over the world with prestigious organisations like Kahuna valley in Hawai, Shree Dhanwantari centre in Berlin.

We are pround to announce the opening of our new panchakarma faculty from 15th March 2009 with a tretament capacity of 20 people per day, a modern sauna room, and insulated treatment room , the first centre in dharamsala to have an insulated centre with high standards of hygiene and proffesional team for treatment. This could not be possible without the support of our patients and students who have given us their unconditional support and love and belived in our organisation .
